Het was alsof ik naar een film keek over mij en mijn familie! Het boek las ook erg makkelijk!<\/p>\n<p>Kort geleden verscheen De geur van bruine bonen, een roman die zich afspeelt in Nederland. Ilse, getrouwd met haar jeugdvriend Henk, kwam naar Nederland en woont er inmiddels 35 jaar. Onderwerpen die er in het boek passeren: de migratiegeschiedenis van Surinamers, ouder-kind relatie, opvoeden in een ander land, racisme, de drugsproblematiek onder Surinamers in de jaren \u201970 en \u201980 en culturele verschillen.<\/p>\n<p>Henna Goudzand Nahar organiseert Zoom-bijeenkomsten met groepen die het boek hebben gelezen en met groepen die het boek nog niet hebben gelezen.
